Reflective Blog #1 EDUCATIONAL BLOG SITES

EDUCATIONAL BLOGS

The Big Question – Using Technology to Enhance Learning: http://thebigquestion.edublogs.org/

This blog is very interesting and one can quickly tell the difference from a classroom blog to an educational blog. The title bar lists several elements which are linked to other blogs and internal parts of the current blog which makes navigation very easy. There are articles on education, and the use of technology in the advancement of education. As with most blogs I have come across in creating this blog, the fonts, layout and color scheme is critical. Everything comes together and seems to flow seamlessly. I like this blog and one thing that really sticks out is the table of contents. This would be a blog site that I would recommend to other educators.

Yes Tech!: http://shoemap.edublogs.org/

This site has several good posts. Several of the topics refer to Google and some of the many features the site has to offer. There is a very interesting post on "Kids Teaching Other Kids Math" and it also has an accompanying video as well. The format of the blog site is very similar to others I have examined. There is a banner at the top announcing the blog site and there are ads lining the far right side. What sticks out is that there are several other links to other blog sites and web addresses that are similar to Yes Tech!. This is not to say this is not available on other blog sites, but it is more prevalent on this particular site. The color scheme is rather bland, but; it does catch your attention at the very beginning of the blog. I like the site and I would certainly recommend it to other educators. I in particular like the addition of the videos.
